Happy Transfiguration of the Lord God and our Saviour Jesus Christ!
2 Peter I, 11 — 'εἰς τὴν αἰώνιον βασιλείαν τοῦ κυρίου ἡμῶν' - 'eis ten aionion basileian tou kyriou emon' - 'into the eternal Kingdom of our Lord'.
2 Peter I, 12 — 'ἐν τῇ παρούσῃ ἀληθείᾳ' - 'en te parouse alatheia' - 'in the present truth'.
2 Peter I, 13 — 'ἐν τούτῳ τῷ σκηνώματι' - 'en touto to skenomati' - 'in this dwelling'. 'ἐν ὑπομνήσει' - 'en hypomnesei' - 'in remembrance; by reminder'. The second option is more likely because it is easier to understand.
2 Peter I, 17 — 'παρὰ θεοῦ πατρὸς' - 'para theou patros' - 'from the nearness of God the Father; from beside God the Father; from God the Father'. The preposition 'para' with the genitive case is the same expression used for the Holy Spirit's proceeding from the Father. It is a parallel, pointing to the deified human nature of Jesus Christ, filled with all the gifts of the Holy Spirit. 'ὑπὸ τῆς μεγαλοπρεποῦς δόξης' - 'hypo tes megaloprepous doxes' - 'from the majestic glory'. The preposition 'hypo' indicates that the human nature of Jesus remains a creation and, in comparison with God and His glory in the time of the Transfiguration, is raised to God, glorified through God's bestowal of His glory, through God's humility. 'εἰς ὃν ἐγὼ εὐδόκησα' - 'eis on ego eudokesa' - 'in Whom is my pleasure'. The preposition 'eis' here emphasises the fulfilment of God's prophecies and promises in Christ.
2 Peter I, 18 — 'ἐξ οὐρανοῦ' - 'ex ouranou' - 'from the heavens'. The preposition 'ex' (a form of the preposition 'ek' before the next vowel) answers the question Whence?
. 'ἐν τῷ ὄρει' - 'en to orei' - 'on the mountain'.
2 Peter I, 19 — 'ἐν αὐχμηρῷ τόπῳ' - 'en sykhmero topo' - 'in a dark place'. 'ἐν ταῖς καρδίαις' - 'en tais kardiais' - 'in the hearts'. The preposition 'en' indicates the 'place' of the action.

Matthew XVII, 1 — 'εἰς ὄρος' - 'eis oros' - ''on the mountain''.
Matthew XVII, 5 — 'ἐκ τῆς νεφέλης' - 'ek tes nepheles' - 'out of the cloud'. 'ἐν ᾧ εὐδόκησα' - 'en o eudokesa' - 'in Whom is My well-pleasing'.
Matthew XVII, 9 — 'ἐκ τοῦ ὄρους' - 'ek tou orous' - 'from the mountain'. The preposition 'ek' indicates a descent from the mountain, i.e. the mountain is the starting point of the movement. The pair 'eis' - 'ek' in verses 1 and 9 indicates movement. 'ἐκ νεκρῶν' - 'ek nekron' - 'from the dead'. Here, the preposition 'ek' also indicates whence the movement is going - from the dead to life.
