(Romanians VI, 18-23)
Romans VI, 18, 22 — ‘ἀπὸ τῆς ἁμαρτίας’ - ‘apo tes amartias’ - ‘from sin’. The preposition ‘apo’ emphasises the distance from sin, the abandonment of sin.

Romans VI, 19, 22 — ‘εἰς ἁγιασμόν’ - ‘eis agiasmon’ - ‘for (to) sanctification’. Here, the preposition ‘eis’ indicates the purpose, as well as the answer to the question ‘For what?’.

Romans VI, 23 — ‘ἡμῶν’ - ‘emon’ - ‘us' (our).

(Matthew VIII, 5-13)
Matthew VIII, 5 — ‘εἰς Καφαρναοὺμ’ - ‘eis Kapharnaoum’ - ‘to Capernaum’.

Matthew VIII, 8 — ‘ὑπὸ τὴν στέγην’ - ‘(h)ypo ten stegen’ - ‘under the roof’.

Matthew VIII, 9 — ‘ὑπὸ ἐξουσίαν’ - ‘(h)ypo exousian’ - ‘under the authority’. ‘ὑπ’ ἐμαυτὸν στρατιώτας - ‘(h)yp emauton stratiotas’ - ‘under me of soldiers’. In verse 9, the accusative is used with the preposition ‘(h)ypo’ or its form before the vowel ‘(h)yp’, which indicates subordination here, and more precisely in the context of the centurion's words, a certain ‘functional coherence regardless of desires’. Let me explain the last statement in more detail. The centurion is ‘under the authority’ means that he performs some of the functions of the authorities, such as protection and control, while the higher meanings of human existence, such as freedom, are not revealed here. The same is true for the centurion's soldiers - they carry out his orders, performing his functions to a certain extent, and the higher meanings of human existence are not revealed here either. This is the reason for the centurion's humility. In fact, what he means is that he recognises the honour of taking Jesus in, and he recognises that his life does not take place in the higher meanings of human existence. In his eyes, Jesus is the One Who came for them.

Matthew VIII, 12 — ‘εἰς τὸ σκότος’ - ‘eis to skotos’ - ‘into the darkness’.
