Today we are reading from the Gospels that tell us about the Nativity of Jesus Christ: the events that immediately preceded it, those that took place at the time of Christmas, and those that took place shortly afterwards.
These are well-known readings, so I will not dwell on them in detail. Also, many of these readings will be read again later, soon.

Matthew I, 18, 23 — 'γαστρὶ' - 'gastri' - 'womb, stomach; often refers to pregnancy (as in this reading)'. 'Ἐμμανουήλ' - 'Emmanouel' - 'Emmanuel' ('God is with us'). 'ἡμῶν' - 'emon' - 'us'.
