Glory Be to Jesus Christ!

(Romanians XV, 17-29)
Romans XV, 17 — ‘ἐν Χριστῷ Ἰησοῦ’ - ‘en CHristo Iesou’ - ‘in Jesus Christ’.

Romans XV, 18 — ‘εἰς ὑπακοὴν’ - ‘eis hypakoen’ - ‘’into obedience; for obedience‘’. ‘ἐθνῶν’ - ‘ethnon’ - ‘Gentiles; peoples; ethnoses’. The apostle most likely had in mind the first meaning, but the Holy Spirit through Paul testifies to all three meanings. See also yesterday's reading and comments there:

Romans XV, 19 — ‘ἐν δυνάμει’ - ‘en dynamei’ - ‘in power; by power’. See above. ‘ἀπὸ Ἱερουσαλὴμ’ - ‘apo ierousalem’ - ‘from Jerusalem’. The preposition ‘apo’ emphasises that Paul left Jerusalem and moved on.

Verses 20-21 are important for the question of a possible dispute with Peter. In my opinion, they show that there was none in this letter (Paul did not try to win Peter's disciples to his side). See more at this link:

Romans XV, 23 — ‘ἀπὸ πολλῶν ἐτῶν’ - ‘apo pollon eton’ - ‘from many years’, i.e. ‘from long ago’. The preposition ‘apo’ emphasises that years have passed.

Romans XV, 24 — ‘ἀπὸ μέρους’ - ‘apo merous’ - ‘in part’. A common expression.

Romans XV, 26 — ‘εἰς τοὺς πτωχοὺς’ - ‘eis tous ptokhous’ - ‘for all the poor’. Here, the preposition ‘eis’ indicates the purpose of the action, for which the donations are made.

Romans XV, 27 — ‘ἔθνη’ - ‘ethne’ - ‘Gentiles; peoples; ethnoses’. Here we are talking about Gentiles, former Gentiles, people of different ethnicities.

Romans XV, 29 — ‘ἐν πληρώματι’ - ‘en pleromati’ - ‘in fullness’. The ablative case is not appropriate here, so it is (being) ‘in fullness’.

(Matthew XII, 46 — XIII, 3)
Matthew XIII, 1 — ‘ἡμέρᾳ’ - ‘emera’ - ‘day’. ‘ἐκ τῆς οἰκίας’ - ‘ek tes oikias’ - ‘from the house’. ‘παρὰ τὴν θάλασσαν’ - ‘para ten thalassan’ - ‘’near the sea‘’. ‘para’ with the accusative.

Matthew XIII, 2 — ‘εἰς πλοῖον’ - ‘eis ploion’ - ‘into the boat’.

Matthew XIII, 3 — ‘ἐν παραβολαῖς’ - ‘en parabolais’ - ‘in parables; by parables’. Both translations are correct.
