Glory Be to Jesus Christ!

(Ephesians VI, 18-24)
Ephesians VI, 18 — ‘ἐν παντὶ καιρῷ’ - ‘en panti kairo’ - ‘at every time; for all time’. ‘ἐν πνεύματι’ - ‘en pneumati’ - ‘in the Spirit; by the Spirit’. Both translations are possible. The first emphasises that life in the Holy Spirit motivates and supports prayer, while the second emphasises that it is good and desirable to pray in such a way that the Holy Spirit gives strength, meaning, direction, etc. ‘εἰς αὐτὸ’ - ‘eis auto’ - ‘in that; for that’. The second translation is more likely. ‘ἐν πάσῃ προσκαρτερήσει’ - ‘en pase proskarteresei’ - ‘in all endurance; in full endurance’.

Ephesians VI, 19 — ‘ἐν ἀνοίξει’ - ‘en anoixei’ - ‘in opening; to be able to open’. ‘ἐν παρρησίᾳ’ - ‘en parresia’ - ‘in boldness; in all-articulation; in freedom; with courage; with openness’. The first translation is more likely.

Ephesians VI, 20 — ‘ἐν ἁλύσει’ - ‘en alysei’ - ‘in chains’. ‘ἐν αὐτῷ’ - ‘en auto’ - ‘in it; in them’. Either in chains or in the Gospel. These words can mean a lot.

Ephesians VI, 21 — ‘ἐν κυρίῳ’ - ‘en kyrio’ - ‘in the Lord’.

Ephesians VI, 22 — ‘εἰς αὐτὸ’ - ‘eis auto’ - ‘for this reason’. Here the preposition ‘eis’ indicates the purpose.

Ephesians VI, 23 — ‘ἀπὸ θεοῦ πατρὸς’ - ‘apo theou patros’ - ‘from God the Father’. The preposition ‘apo’ here emphasises that peace, faith and love are God's gifts to people.

Ephesians VI, 24 — ‘ἐν ἀφθαρσίᾳ’ - ‘en aphtharsia’ - ‘in sincerity’.

(Luke XI, 23-26)
Luke XI, 24 — ‘ἀπὸ τοῦ ἀνθρώπου’ - ‘apo tou anthropou’ - ‘out of a human being’. The preposition ‘apo’ emphasises that the unclean spirit comes completely out of the person. ‘εἰς τὸν οἶκόν’ - ‘eis ton oikon’ - ‘into the house’.
