A Lot of Joy from God!

🇬🇧 Glory be to Jesus Christ! 🌞 Dedicated to Emma Kok.

Concerning the earthquake:
(Hebrews XII, 6-13, 25-27; Matthew VIII, 23-27)
Hebrews XII:25 – ‘ημεις’ – ‘emeis’ – ‘we’.

The Old Testament quote is found in many different places.

For the first verses of the reading from the Apostle (6-10), see this link:

The immediate continuation of the reading from the Apostle is the one referred to here:

There is a parallel to the earthquake in the reading from the Apostle.

As for the attitude to trials, there is a good essay at the following links:

and the other links cited there.

For the Gospel reading, see:

(Colossians I, 24-29)

Verse 24 literally translates roughly as I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake and fill up (supplement) instead of someone else the lack (poverty) of persecution, the distress of Christ in my body for the sake of His Body, that is, the Church. Here Paul does NOT say that he is supplementing Christ’s Passion (as it appears in the common Ukrainian translation), but he says that he suffers as a supplement to the persecution he suffers for Christ’s sake for the sake of the Church and its building, for the sake of the ministry.

Colossians I, 28 – ‘ημεις’ – ‘emeis’ – ‘we’. ‘τελειον’ – ‘teleion’ - ‘perfect, accomplished, fully grown’.

Colossians I, 29 – ‘εμοι’ – ‘emoi’ – (in) ‘me’.

On suffering, see the references to the earthquake and the trial quoted above.

(Luke XI, 14-23)

Luke XI, 23 – ‘εμου’ – ‘emou’ – ‘Me’ ((with) Me).
