For Vespers:
Enoch lived on earth for 365 years — the same number of days in a usual year. It is widely believed that the words in verse 24 mean that God took Enoch alive to heaven for his righteousness and that he will return with the prophet Elijah in the last days. The peculiarity of Enoch's personality made it possible that some religious texts were attributed to him, in particular the so-called Book of Enoch, which is an apocryphon and a passage from which is indirectly quoted by the apostle Jude in his Epistle. Nevertheless, the book is definitely not the work of Enoch himself, in particular because it refers to events after the death of Moses. Most likely, someone much later attributed the authorship to the prominent Enoch to give credibility to the text, as was often done in ancient times. In general, the book is not recognised by the Church.
