(Philippians I, 20-27)
Philippians I, 22 — ἐν σαρκί - ‘en sarki’ - ‘in the body’.

Philippians I, 23 — ‘ἐκ τῶν δύο’ - ‘ek ton duo’ - ‘of the two’. The preposition ‘ek’ here indicates the source of the action. ‘εἰς τὸ ἀναλῦσαι’ - ‘eis to analysai’ - ‘to depart; for departure’ (here figuratively - to die).

Philippians I, 25 — ‘εἰς τὴν ὑμῶν’ - ‘eis ten ymon’ - ‘for you; to you’. The preposition ‘eis’ indicates a movement towards, and by its meaning here also a direction, an appeal.

Philippians I, 26 — ‘ἐν Χριστῷ’ - ‘en CHristo’ - ‘in Christ; by Christ’. Both translations are possible: the first emphasises the general connection of joy with Christ, and the second indicates that Christ is the Cause and Source of joy. ‘ἐν ἐμοὶ’ - ‘en emoi’ - ‘in me’. It also means ‘through me’.

Philippians I, 27 — ‘ἐν ἑνὶ πνεύματι’ - ‘en eni pneumati’ - ‘in one Spirit’.

(Luke XI, 47 — XII, 1)
Luke XI, 49 — ‘εἰς αὐτοὺς’ - ‘eis autous’ - ‘to them’. Here the preposition ‘eis’ indicates the direction of movement. ‘ἐξ αὐτῶν’ - ‘ex auton’ - ‘from them’. The preposition ‘ek’ in its form before the following vowel indicates here a choice from a certain group.

Luke XI, 50, 51 — ‘ἀπὸ καταβολῆς’ - ‘apo kataboles’ - ‘from the foundation’. The preposition ‘apo’ indicates here the beginning of the time period. ‘ἀπὸ τῆς γενεᾶς’ - ‘apo tes genes’ - ‘from the lineage’. Here the preposition ‘apo’ indicates the responsibility of the lineage.

Luke XI, 51 — ‘ἀπὸ αἵματος’ - ‘apo haimatos’ - ‘from the blood’. The preposition ‘apo’ indicates the beginning from which the countdown is made.

Luke XI, 54 — ‘ἐκ τοῦ στόματος’ - ‘ek tou stomatos’ - ‘from the mouth’. The preposition ‘ek’ here indicates the source of the information.

Luke XII, 1 — ‘Ἐν οἷς’ - ‘En ois’ - ‘In those (times)’.
