Paul begins by speaking about God's intention to save people, and then about the means provided by God's grace for this purpose.
The fall of human beings opened the door
to sin, suffering, death and decay — the ability to deteriorate; similarly, the Coming of Christ and the salvation and grace He has provided have opened the door
to salvation and eternal blissful life in the Kingdom of God.
We can compare the significance of both in the following way: the fall pushed people from a flat place into an abyss, while Christ's salvation not only lifted people from the abyss but also brought them to the top. Therefore, it is much more significant and powerful
.
