Philippians II, 13 – ‘θεος γαρ εστιν ο
ενεργων εν υμιν και το θελειν και το ενεργειν υπερ της ευδοκιας’ -
‘theos gar estin o energon en ymin kai to thelein kai to thelein kai to
energein hyper tes eudokias’ – literally, ’God is the One, Who works
(accomplishes, operates) both will (desire) and work (accomplishment,
operation) in you for (according to, in behalf of) good will.” The
faithful co-operate with God in the fulfilment of God’s will and action
in themselves and other creatures, but since God First leads them to it,
gives them strength and grants it, it can be said that it is He who

Philippians II, 16 – ‘εμοι’ – ‘emoi’ – (to) ‘me’. ‘ημεραν’ – ‘emeran’ - ‘day’.
Paul again praises the Philippians in their virtues, testifying that these virtues are from God, testifying to the importance of faithful Christians to the world (parallel to Matthew X, 16, XII, 39, also Matthew V, 14-16 and other places in Scripture). He also expresses his personal joy that his own apostolic work among them was successful in bringing salvation (he uses the metaphor of running, the competition of athletes).
Luke IX, 18 – ‘προσευχομενον’ – ‘proseukhomenon’ - ‘prayed high’ (meaning, ‘high’ as related to His human nature, that it was a high prayer).
The apostles’ recognition of Jesus Christ as the Son of God, expressed by the apostle Peter. Luke’s account is shorter than Matthew’s.
