2 Thessalonians II, 13 - 'Ἡμεῖς' - 'emeis' - 'we'.
2 Thessalonians II, 14-16, III, 1 - 'ἡμῶν' - 'emon' - 'us' (our, ours).
2 Thessalonians II, 16 - 'ἡμᾶς' - 'emas' - 'us'.
The apostle Paul wishes the Thessalonians to be strengthened and encouraged by God, and asks them to pray.
I will focus on verse III, 5 - May the Lord direct your hearts
- meaning that He will act by grace on the hearts of people so that they draw closer to God's (Father's) love and Christ's patience. At the same time, people's hearts remain free; God does not take away or diminish people's freedom, but encourages, gives, strengthens, fills, gifts, enlightens, guides, etc.
Paul also thanks God for the faith and faithfulness of the Thessalonians, and praises them and tells them to hold on to what was handed down from the apostles. What has been handed down from the apostles is called apostolic Tradition
.
Luke XVIII, 32 - 'ἐμπαιχθήσεται' - 'empaikhthesetai' - 'will be mocked'. 'ἐμπτυσθήσεται' - 'emptysthesetai' - 'will be spat upon'.
Luke XVIII, 33 - 'ἡμέρᾳ' - 'emera' - 'of the day'.
The Lord Jesus Christ openly foretells His disciples of His future Passion, Death and Resurrection, but the disciples do not understand.
I wrote about the parallel passage in Matthew (Matthew XX, 17-19) here:
