In addition to the common and well-known understanding, the parable has another meaning. Since entering the Kingdom of God (into the joy of one’s Lord) in many places in the Gospel means consciously living in accordance with God’s will in this life, seeing the manifestations of the Kingdom of God right now, the parable also means that in order to consciously live in accordance with God’s will now, one must… work and bear fruit, multiply the talents one has received. Without this multiplication it is impossible to enter into the joy of one’s Lord.

The fact that people are created to be able to be gifted is well written at the following link:

Luke IV, 34 – ‘ημιν’ – ‘emin’ – (to) me (What is it to me and to You? literally). ‘ημας’ – ‘emas’ – ‘us’.
