Since yesterday was a holiday, yesterday's readings are postponed until today.

(Galatians I, 1-10, 20 — II, 5, 6-10)
Galatians I, 1 — ‘ἀπ’ ἀνθρώπων - ‘ap anthropon’ - ‘from men’. The preposition ‘apo’ in its form before the following vowel indicates that Paul is separated from men, but since it is followed by a negation, it also implies that Paul received the apostleship not through subjective choice and ‘appointment’, but through ministry and calling by God Himself. ‘ἐκ νεκρῶν’ - ‘ek nekron’ - ‘from the dead’. This emphasises the transition from death to life.

Galatians I, 3 — ‘ἀπὸ θεοῦ πατρὸς’ - ‘apo theou patros’ - ‘from God the Father’. The preposition ‘apo’ indicates that grace and peace are gifts of God to people.

Galatians I, 4 — ‘ἐκ τοῦ αἰῶνος’ - ‘ek tou aionos’ - ‘from age’. The preposition ‘ek’ indicates here the exit from this age and the transition to God's life, life in God.

Galatians I, 5 — ‘εἰς τοὺς αἰῶνας’ - ‘eis tous aionas’ - ‘into the ages’. A continuation of the previous one - ‘where to’ the transition took place.

Galatians I, 6 — ‘ἀπὸ τοῦ καλέσαντος’ - ‘apo tou kalesantos’ - ‘from Him Who called’. It indicates the departure of people from God. ‘ἐν χάριτι Χριστοῦ εἰς ἕτερον εὐαγγέλιον’ - ‘en khariti CHristou eis eteron euangelion’ - ‘in the grace of Christ - to another gospel; by the grace of Christ - to another gospel’. Rather, it is the second, since the calling was accomplished by the grace that ‘calls’.

Galatians I, 8, 9 — ‘ἐξ οὐρανοῦ’ - ‘ex ouranou’ - ‘from heaven’. Indicates origin or location. Either he preaches from heaven or he is in heaven. ‘παρ’ ὃ' - par o - to the proximity of. The preposition ‘para’ in the form before the next vowel here with the accusative means here ‘something else, not that’.

Galatians I, 21 — ‘εἰς τὰ κλίματα’ - ‘eis ta klimata’ - ‘in the region’.

Galatians I, 22, II, 4 — ‘ἐν Χριστῷ’ - ‘en CHristo’ - ‘in Christ’.

Galatians I, 24 — ‘ἐν ἐμοὶ’ - ‘en emoi’ - ‘in me’. That is, in connection with my life and God's work in it.

Galatians II, 1 — ‘εἰς Ἱεροσόλυμα’ - ‘eis Ierosalema’ - ‘to Jerusalem’.

Galatians II, 2 — ‘ἐν τοῖς ἔθνεσιν’ - ‘en tois ethnesin’ - ‘in the nations; in the Gentiles’. ‘εἰς κενὸν’ - ‘eis kenon’ - ‘in vain’. A common expression.

Galatians II, 6 — ‘ἀπὸ δὲ τῶν δοκούντων’ - ‘apo de ton dokounton’ - ‘as for those who count’. The preposition ‘apo’ here emphasises that ‘besides, apart from that’, i.e. a transition to a new topic of conversation.

Galatians II, 8, 9 — ‘εἰς ἀποστολὴν’ - ‘eis apostolen’ - ‘in the apostleship’. ‘εἰς τὰ ἔθνη’ - ‘eis ta ethne’ - ‘in the nations; among the Gentiles’. Here, implicitly, Paul calls preaching among the Jews ‘apostleship’. However, he immediately shows that God is no less helpful in preaching to the Gentiles, whom He also cares about and wants to save. So these are diplomatic words of the Apostle Paul with a deep meaning.

Galatians II, 9 — ‘εἰς τὴν περιτομήν’ - ‘eis ten peritomen’ - ‘with the circumcised; for the circumcised’. Both variants are possible, although they are different.

(Luke VI, 12-19; 17-23)
Luke VI, 12 — ‘ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις’ - ‘en tais emerais’ - ‘in those days; then’. A common expression. ‘εἰς τὸ ὄρος’ - ‘eis to oros’ - ‘up the mountain; on the mountain’. ‘ἐν τῇ προσευχῇ’ - ‘en te proseukhe’ - ‘in high, spiritual prayer’.

Luke VI, 13 — ‘ἡμέρα’ - ‘emera’ - ‘day’. ‘ἀπ’ αὐτῶν' - ap auton - of them. the preposition apo in its form ap before the next vowel indicates that Jesus separated the twelve from the rest.
