it is written that the use of prepositions is important for the correct understanding of important and actual issues, in particular the issue of power, I am writing commentaries on the use of these prepositions. As a piece of advice on how to read the text, you can read the verse in translation and/or in the original (if you have the opportunity), and then the commentary on prepositions here. Next, you need to understand which part of the verse the commentary refers to, and consider what it affirms — or less often, denies — that is essential to understanding. This thoughtful reading helps to deepen understanding and protects against the mistakes mentioned above.
1 Thessalonians II, 14 — ‘ἐν τῇ Ἰουδαίᾳ’ - ‘en te Ioudaia’ - ‘in Judea’. ‘ἐν Χριστῷ Ἰησοῦ’ - ‘en CHristo Iesou’ - ‘in Jesus Christ’. ‘ὑπὸ τῶν ἰδίων συμφυλετῶν’ - ‘hypo ton idion symphyleton’ - ‘under his countrymen; through his countrymen’. ‘ὑπὸ τῶν Ἰουδαίων’ - ‘hypo ton Ioudaion’ - ‘under the Jews; through the Jews’. The preposition ‘’ypo‘’ here is with the genitive case, in both cases the second translation is more likely.
1 Thessalonians II, 16 — ‘εἰς τὸ ἀναπληρῶσαι’ - ‘eis to anaplerosai’ - ‘so as to fill up’. Here the preposition ‘eis’ indicates the purpose of the action. ‘εἰς τέλος’ - ‘eis telos’ - ‘in the end; in the (logical) completion’.
1 Thessalonians II, 17 — ‘ἀφ’ ὑμῶν' - aph hymon

. The preposition ‘apo’ in its form before the following ‘hy’ indicates that the apostles and disciples are in different places. ‘ἐν πολλῇ ἐπιθυμίᾳ’ - ‘en polle epithymia’ - ‘in great desire; with great eagerness’.
1 Thessalonians II, 19 — ‘ἐν τῇ αὐτοῦ παρουσίᾳ’ - ‘en te autou parousia’ - ‘at His Coming’.

Luke XX, 19 — ‘ἐν αὐτῇ τῇ ὥρᾳ’ - ‘en aute te hora’ - ‘at that hour; at that time’. A common expression.
