it is written that the use of prepositions has important significance for the correct understanding of important and topical questions, particularly the question of power, I am writing comments regarding the use of precisely these prepositions. As advice regarding reading what is written — one can read the verse in translation or/and original (whoever has such possibility), and then the corresponding comment regarding prepositions here. Then it is necessary to understand which part of the verse the comment concerns, and also to consider what essential for understanding it affirms — or more rarely — denies. Such thoughtful reading helps to deepen understanding and protects from the mentioned mistakes.

(2 Timothy IV, 5-8 )
2 Timothy IV, 5 — 'ἐν πᾶσιν' - 'en pasin' - in everything. 'πληροφόρησον' - 'plerophoreson' - finished, fulfilled (brought to fullness).

2 Timothy IV, 7 — 'τετέλεκα' — 'teteleka' - accomplished, finished — from 'τελέω'. 'τετήρηκα' - 'tetereka' - kept, adhered to — from 'τηρέω'. A peculiar versification in the words of the apostle.

2 Timothy IV, 8 — 'ἐν ἐκείνῃ τῇ ἡμέρᾳ' — 'en ekeine te hemera' - on that day. When. 'δικαιοσύνης στέφανος' - 'dikaiosynes stephanos' - crown of righteousness (parallel with the protomartyr Stephen, a witness to whose sufferings once was Saul himself, who later converted and became Paul; speaking about his future martyrdom, Paul draws a parallel with Stephen as now a brother in Christ).

The Apostle Paul testifies about his ministry, which was approaching a martyric completion and crown of glory from the Lord, as about such which was well accomplished. An example of that awareness of good work and ministry does not contradict humility. See also about that at the link:

Also by these words Paul calls to similar in diligence (and as far as possible also in fruitfulness) work of all the faithful.

(Mark I, 1-8 )
Mark I, 2 — 'ἐν τῷ Ἡσαΐᾳ τῷ προφήτῃ' — 'en to Hesaia to prophete' - in Isaiah the prophet. In whom.

Mark I, 3, 4 — 'ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ' — 'en te eremo' - in the wilderness. Where.

Mark I, 4 — 'εἰς ἄφεσιν ἁμαρτιῶν' — 'eis aphesin hamartion' - for the sending away of sins; for the forgiveness of sins; unto the forgiveness of sins. The preposition 'eis' indicates the purpose of the action.

Mark I, 5 — 'ἐβαπτίζοντο ὑπ' αὐτοῦ ἐν τῷ Ἰορδάνῃ ποταμῷ' — 'ebaptizonto hyp autou en to Iordane potamo' - were baptised by him in the Jordan river. The preposition 'hypo' in its form before the following vowel here with the genitive case, indicates the passive voice of were baptised.

Mark I, 8 — 'βαπτίσει ὑμᾶς ἐν πνεύματι ἁγίῳ' — 'baptisei hymas en pneumati hagio' - will baptise you in the Holy Spirit (with the Holy Spirit); will completely immerse you in the Holy Spirit (with the Holy Spirit). Rather the first variant of translation, since the second looks incomplete in meaning. See also:
