it is written that the use of prepositions has important significance for the correct understanding of important and topical questions, particularly the question of power, I am writing comments regarding the use of precisely these prepositions. As advice regarding reading what is written — one can read the verse in translation or/and original (whoever has such possibility), and then the corresponding comment regarding prepositions here. Then it is necessary to understand which part of the verse the comment concerns, and also to consider what essential for understanding it affirms — or more rarely — denies. Such thoughtful reading helps to deepen understanding and protects from the mentioned mistakes.

Luke XVI, 21 — 'ἀπὸ τῶν πιπτόντων ἀπὸ τῆς τραπέζης τοῦ πλουσίου' - 'apo ton piptonton apo tes trapezes tou plousiou' – from the crumbs of the rich man's table
. The preposition 'apo' indicates that these crumbs were small in comparison with the rich man's food; it also suggests that, if they truly reached Lazarus, it would have been a gift from the rich man to him.
Luke XVI, 22 — 'ὑπὸ τῶν ἀγγέλων' – 'hypo ton angelon' – by the angels
. The preposition 'hypo' with the genitive here indicates the passive voice of the verb was carried
, and specifies who carried Lazarus's soul to Abraham's bosom. 'εἰς τὸν κόλπον ἀβραάμ' – 'eis ton kolpon Abraam' – to Abraham's bosom

Luke XVI, 23 — 'ἐν τῷ ᾅδῃ' - 'en to hade' – in Hades

. The preposition 'apo' here indicates that the brothers considered themselves entirely unconnected to the world of the dead, thinking of themselves as living; and here the appearance of a dead person! It also emphasises that such an appearance would mean that the dead person had completely left the realm of the dead, that is, had risen.
Luke XVI, 31 — 'τις ἐκ νεκρῶν ἀναστῇ' - 'tis ek nekron anaste' – someone rises from the dead
. The preposition 'ek' shows from where the transition happened – from the dead to the living; here there is also a clear and visible parallel with the Resurrection of Christ Himself. That is, if someone did not accept the preparation for Christ in the form of the Law and the Prophets, they will not accept Christ Himself. If they do not seek spiritual life, righteousness, and holiness, even miracles will not help.
