it is written that the use of prepositions is important for the correct understanding of important and actual issues, in particular the issue of power, I am writing commentaries on the use of these prepositions. As a piece of advice on how to read the text, you can read the verse in translation and/or in the original (if you have the opportunity), and then the commentary on prepositions here. Next, you need to understand which part of the verse the commentary refers to, and consider what it affirms — or less often, denies — that is essential to understanding. This thoughtful reading helps to deepen understanding and protects against the mistakes mentioned above.

Mark VII, 15 — ‘εἰς αὐτὸν’ - ‘eis auton’ - ‘with her (a person)’. ‘τὰ ἐκ τοῦ ἀνθρώπου’ - ‘ta ek tou anthropou’ - ‘those that are from human being’. The preposition ‘ek’ in connection with the preceding ‘eis’ here indicates where those things that are referred to later as the cause of the defilement of the human being come from.
Mark VII, 17 — ‘εἰς τὸν οἶκον’ - ‘eis ton oikon’ - ‘into the house’. ‘ἀπὸ τοῦ ὄχλου’ - ‘apo tou okhlou’ - ‘from the crowd’. The preposition ‘apo’ indicates that Christ here left the crowd completely.
Mark VII, 18 — ‘εἰς τὸν ἄνθρωπον’ - ‘eis ton anthropon’ - ‘into a human being’.
Mark VII, 19 — ‘εἰς τὴν καρδίαν’ - ‘eis ten kardian’ - ‘into the heart’. ‘εἰς τὴν κοιλίαν’ - ‘eis ten koilian’ - ‘into the belly’. ‘εἰς τὸν ἀφεδρῶνα’ - ‘eis ton aphedrona’ - ‘into the toilet’ (in the modern language).
Mark VII, 20 — ‘ἐκ τοῦ ἀνθρώπου’ - ‘ek tou anthropou’ - ‘out of a human being’. The preposition ‘ek’ emphasises that it is the really important things that are now being discussed.
Mark VII, 21 — ‘ἐκ τῆς καρδίας’ - ‘ek tes kardias’ - ’from the heart‘. The preposition ‘ek’ emphasises that it is the really important things that are now being discussed.
Mark VII, 24 — ‘εἰς τὰ ὅρια Τύρου’ - ‘eis ta horia Tyrou’ - ‘within the boundaries of Tyre; into the territory of Tyre’. ‘εἰς οἰκίαν’ - ‘eis oikian’ - ‘into (a) house’.
