(Ephesians III, 8-21)
Ephesians III, 9 — ‘ἀπὸ τῶν αἰώνων’ - ‘apo ton aionon’ - ‘from the ages’. The preposition ‘apo’ is used here in the sense of ‘’since, before‘’, which is typical in such expressions. ‘ἐν τῷ θεῷ’ - ‘en to theo’ - ‘in God; by God’. The former is more likely, since the latter implies that God has ‘hidden’ the mystery for some reason.

Ephesians III, 10 — ‘ἐν τοῖς ἐπουρανίοις’ - ‘en tois epouraniois’ - ‘in the on-heavens; in the heavens’. A similar expression is found in Ephesians I, 3, but there it refers to Christ Himself in His Ascension. Therefore, here, too, we can think that it refers implicitly to the ascended and glorified body of Christ, which is mysteriously related to the Church. In other words, it is not that the angelic ranks are in the heavens, but that through the Ascension and glorification of Christ, through His manifested love for the Church, in particular as His Body, the mystery of God, the wisdom of God, is preached to the angels. Ephesians III, 11, 21 — ‘ἐν (τῷ) Χριστῷ’ - ‘en to CHristo’ - ‘in Christ’.

Ephesians III, 12 — ‘ἐν ᾧ’ - ‘en o’ - ‘in Whom’. ‘ἐν πεποιθήσει’ - ‘en pepoithesei’ - ‘in confidence; in trust’.

Ephesians III, 13 — ‘ἐν ταῖς θλίψεσίν’ - ‘en tais thlipsesin’ - ‘in the tribulations’.

Ephesians III, 15 — ‘ἐξ οὗ’ - ‘ex ou’ - ‘from Whom’. Here, the preposition ‘ek’ in its form before the next vowel indicates the Source of origin. ‘ἐν οὐρανοῖς’ - ‘en ouranois’ - ‘in the heavens’.

Ephesians III, 16 — ‘εἰς τὸν ἔσω ἄνθρωπον’ - ‘eis ton eso anthropon’ - ‘in the inner human being’. The preposition ‘eis’ indicates here a movement towards the ‘inner human being’ in the Holy Spirit, which can be understood in a simplistic way - towards a certain ideal.

Ephesians III, 17 — ‘ἐν ταῖς καρδίαις’ - ‘en tais kardiais’ - ‘in the hearts’.

Ephesians III, 18 — ‘ἐν ἀγάπῃ’ - ‘en agape’ - ‘in love; by love’. Both translations are possible.

Ephesians III, 19 — ‘εἰς πᾶν τὸ πλήρωμα’ - ‘eis pan to pleroma’ - ‘in all fullness’. It indicates movement towards God and growth.

Ephesians III, 20 — ‘ἐν ἡμῖν’ - ‘en emin’ - ‘in us’.

Ephesians III, 21 — ‘ἐν τῇ ἐκκλησίᾳ’ - ‘en te ekklesia’ - ‘in the Church’. ‘εἰς πάσας τὰς γενεὰς’ - ‘en pasas tas geneas’ - ‘in all generations’.

(Luke IX, 44-50)
Luke IX, 44 — ‘εἰς τὰ ὦτα’ - ‘eis ta ota’ - ‘in the ears’. ‘εἰς χεῖρας’ - ‘eis kheiras’ - ‘in the hands’.

Luke IX, 45 — ‘ἀπ’ αὐτῶν - ‘ap auton’ - ‘from them’. The preposition ‘apo’ in the form before the next vowel here indicates that this was completely, totally, utterly incomprehensible to the disciples.

Luke IX, 46 — ‘ἐν αὐτοῖς’ - ‘en autois’ - ‘with them’.

Luke IX, 47 — ‘παρ’ ἑαυτῷ' - par heauto - with Himself. Here the preposition ‘para’ in its form before the following vowel is used with the dative case.

Luke IX, 48 — ‘ἐν πᾶσιν ὑμῖν’ - ‘en pasin ymin’ - ‘in you all; among you all’.
