it is written that the use of prepositions has important significance for the correct understanding of important and topical questions, particularly the question of power, I am writing comments regarding the use of precisely these prepositions. As advice regarding reading what is written — one can read the verse in translation or/and original (whoever has such possibility), and then the corresponding comment regarding prepositions here. Then it is necessary to understand which part of the verse the comment concerns, and also to consider what essential for understanding it affirms — or more rarely — denies. Such thoughtful reading helps to deepen understanding and protects from the mentioned mistakes.

Mark XI, 11 — 'εἰς Ἱεροσόλυμα εἰς τὸ ἱερόν' — 'eis Hierosolyma eis to hieron' - into Jerusalem into the temple
. Whither. 'εἰς Βηθανίαν' - 'eis Bethanian' - into Bethany
. Whither.
Mark XI, 12 — 'ἀπὸ Βηθανίας' — 'apo Bethanias' - from Bethany
. The preposition 'apo' indicates that they completely left Bethany.
Mark XI, 13 — 'ἀπὸ μακρόθεν' — 'apo makrothen' - from afar
. Common expression.
Mark XI, 14 — 'εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα' — 'eis ton aiona' - for ever; unto the age
. Common expression. 'ἐκ σοῦ' - 'ek sou' - from you
. The preposition 'ek' indicates that the fruits will not proceed or also, that they will not be gathered from the fig tree, that is, it will not have them.
Mark XI, 15 — 'εἰς Ἱεροσόλυμα' — 'eis Hierosolyma' - into Jerusalem
. Whither. 'εἰς τὸ ἱερὸν' - 'eis to hieron' - into the temple
. Whither. 'ἐν τῷ ἱερῷ' - 'en to hiero' - in the temple

Mark XI, 20 — 'ἐκ ῥιζῶν' — 'ek rhizon' - from the root
. The preposition 'ek' indicates that the fig tree no longer received nourishing forces from the root.
Mark XI, 23 — 'εἰς τὴν θάλασσαν' — 'eis ten thalassan' — into the sea; to the sea
. Whither. 'ἐν τῇ καρδίᾳ' - 'en te kardia' - in the heart
