it is written that the use of prepositions is important for the correct understanding of important and actual issues, in particular the issue of power, I am writing commentaries on the use of these prepositions. As a piece of advice on how to read the text, you can read the verse in translation and/or in the original (if you have the opportunity), and then the commentary on prepositions here. Next, you need to understand which part of the verse the commentary refers to, and consider what it affirms — or less often, denies — that is essential to understanding. This thoughtful reading helps to deepen understanding and protects against the mistakes mentioned above.

Acts XXVIII, 4 — 'κρεμάμενον τὸ θηρίον ἐκ τῆς χειρὸς αὐτοῦ' - 'kremamenon to therion ek tes kheiros autou' - the beast hanging from his hand
. From where. 'διασωθέντα ἐκ τῆς θαλάσσης' - 'diasothenta ek tes thalasses' - saved from the sea
. From where. The preposition 'ek' in both these cases indicates where the events and actions took place from, without additional specifications (that is, generally, as is often used).
Acts XXVIII, 5 — 'εἰς τὸ πῦρ' - 'eis to pyr' - into the fire
. Where to.
Acts XXVIII, 6 — 'εἰς αὐτὸν' - 'eis auton' - concerning him
. Concerning whom, about whom. The preposition 'eis' indicates here concerning whom misfortune was expected by the natives.
Acts XXVIII, 7 — 'ἐν δὲ τοῖς περὶ τὸν τόπον' - 'en de tois peri ton topon' - around that place
. Where. The preposition 'en' together with 'peri' here form a common expression.
Acts XXVIII, 9, 11 — 'ἐν τῇ νήσῳ' - 'en te neso' - in the island; on the island
. Where. In English it would be the second translation option, which emphasises location rather than placement.
Acts XXVIII, 11 — 'ἐν πλοίῳ' - 'en ploio' - in the ship; on the ship
. Where.
Acts XXVIII, 12 — 'εἰς Συρακούσας' - 'eis Syrakousas' - to Syracuse
. Where to.
Acts XXVIII, 13 — 'εἰς Ῥήγιον' - 'eis Region' - to Rhegium
. Where to. 'εἰς Ποτιόλους' - 'eis Potiolous' - to Puteoli
. Where to.
Acts XXVIII, 14, 16 — 'παρ' αὐτοῖς' - 'par autois' - with them; in proximity to them
. The preposition 'para' in its form before the following vowel here with the dative case indicates that those brethren wanted to be their close friends. 'εἰς τὴν Ῥώμην' - 'eis ten Romen' - to Rome
. Where to.
Acts XXVIII, 15 — 'εἰς ἀπάντησιν' - 'eis anantesin' - for a friendly meeting
. The preposition 'eis' indicates purpose here.
Acts XXVIII, 17 — 'δέσμιος ἐξ Ἱεροσολύμων παρεδόθην εἰς τὰς χεῖρας τῶν Ῥωμαίων' - 'desmios ex Hierosolymon paredothen eis ta kheiras ton Romaion' - a prisoner from Jerusalem delivered into the hands of the Romans
. The pair of prepositions 'ek'-'eis' in their respective forms indicates movement from and to
, that is, from where and to where.
Acts XXVIII, 18 — 'ἐν ἐμοί' - 'en emoi' - in me
.
Acts XXVIII, 21 — 'ἀπὸ τῆς Ἰουδαίας' - 'apo tes Ioudaias' - from Judaea
. The preposition 'apo' indicates here that those possible (but in reality absent) letters from a completely different region would have had to entirely leave it in order to be delivered to Rome.
Acts XXVIII, 22 — 'παρὰ σοῦ' - 'para sou' - from beside you
. The preposition 'para' here is with the genitive case. Such a construction is used concerning the procession of the Holy Spirit from the Father, also concerning the human nature of Jesus Christ. See more at the links:

Here it has two meanings. The Jews trust Paul not because they are like-minded, but because he is a witness to those events to a much greater extent than they are. Therefore it indicates here that the Jews expect the action of the Holy Spirit through Paul, although not all are ready to accept his faith concerning Jesus. For those who are ready, Paul's words will indeed confirm their expectations and faith, whilst for the rest Paul remained only to a certain extent a participant in the events. An indication that true testimony also occurs with the participation of the Holy Spirit.
Acts XXVIII, 23 — 'εἰς τὴν ξενίαν' - 'eis ten xenian' - to the lodging (place for receiving guests, visitors)
. Where to. 'ἀπό τε τοῦ νόμου Μωϋσέως καὶ τῶν προφητῶν' - 'apo te tou nomou Moyseos kai ton protheton' - from the Law of Moses and the Prophets
. The preposition 'apo' indicates here that those studies and words can be perceived objectively, that is, it concerns balanced interpretation of Holy Scripture, correct understanding. 'ἀπὸ πρωῒ ἕως ἑσπέρας' - 'apo proi heos hesperas' - from dawn until evening
. The preposition 'apo' indicates here the beginning of the time count in a certain interval.
